The Ambassadors Club is an initiative by the Convention Bureau Genova aimed at personalities with a strong sense of belonging to the city, who see the growth of congress tourism in Genoa as a driving force for the development of the city's economy.
The Club is composed of local "personalities"—prominent figures who hold key roles within their respective fields in the local community. Thanks to their prestige, credibility, experience, and contacts, the Ambassadors can act as spokespersons for the city's value and influence decisions regarding destination choices for major corporate and association events. Becoming an ambassador means adding an important piece to the efforts for the city's relaunch; it means activating that concrete capacity to build a network within the territory, which constitutes an indispensable resource for development.
The role of the Ambassador is to propose the city as a destination for national and international conferences and events.
WHO THE AMBASSADORS ARE
The Ambassadors are women and men who possess a strong sense of identification with the local territory and maintain an extensive network of national and international relations. These include prominent figures from the scientific world, the academic community, and professional associations, as well as those who have carried their "Genoese spirit" (genovesità) throughout Italy and abroad.
WHAT THE AMBASSADOR DOES
The commitment of the Ambassadors consists of:
- Evaluating opportunities to secure a potential bid
- Gathering useful information to develop a winning bid
- Identifying key stakeholders
- Promoting and proposing Genoa as a destination to association boards
- Willingness to participate in cultural initiatives and social events promoted by CBG.
SUPPORT FROM CONVENTION BUREAU GENOVA
Ambassadors who wish to bring a major event to Genoa are not alone: CBG guarantees concrete support by providing them with the necessary promotional and communication tools to showcase the destination and all its opportunities.
Together, the Ambassador and CBG evaluate the possibilities and the actions to be taken to achieve the objective.
The Convention Bureau Genova provides the Ambassador—completely free of charge—with its assistance throughout the entire promotional and organizational process of the event.
